Rugged lens flare protection for your camera and lens
The Matteblox DV (pronounced "Matte Blocks Dee Vee") is designed to reduce lens flare for Century Optics' and Canon's wide angle lenses by integrating a matte farbic lined lens hood with an adjustable/removable french flag.

Ready for Action
The Matteblox DV grips the end of any lens that is 60-85mm in outside diameter. With the 72mm Threaded Adapter or the 72mm Slim Adapter, the Matteblox DV can be used directly on cameras with a 72mm thread, including Canon's XL1/XL1s/XL2, Panasonic's AG-DVX100 and AG-DVC80. Finally, step-up rings allow the Matteblox to be used with the 72mm Threaded Adapter to be mounted on just about any camera or lens with a thread on the end. Sony's new HDV cameras (HDR-FX1 and HVR-Z1) will have some vignetting with the Matteblox DV (using 72mm Threaded Adapter or 72mm Slim Adapter on a UV filter) vignetting disappears at Z7. Adding a 4×4" or 100×100mm Filter Holder, vignetting disappears at Z18.

Any way you want it
Although most situations will have you mounting the Matteblox DV nice and square with your camera, a little creativity will allow the Matteblox DV to do more than you would think. While we do not officially support rotating filters, you can easily rotate the entire Matteblox DV.

Filtering the World
In addition to the usual light stopping shadiness of the Matteblox DV, we have the option of adding a filter holder which allows the use of 100mm or 4" square filters and gels. To increase the versatility of the Matteblox DV, we also have Cokin A and P Filter holders available as well.

Shadyman: Man of ballistic nylon
The DV matte box and lens shade is made from a durable 1680D ballistic nylon with rubber grips that hold firmly on to, but will not scratch your lens barrel. The french flag is also made from durable 1680D ballistic nylon. Both are lined with a matte fabric to reduce glare.

Wrapped in a neat package
The Matteblox DV folds flat and can be stored in the handy carrying case which can hang from anything using the included carabiner. There is plenty of space in the case for all the Matteblox accessories (except the Oversize Flag, which is sold with it's own case).
